Funeral services for Chris DeBeer were held July 6, at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. Rev. Brian Hellenga officiated. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery with Vogelaar-Bolin Funeral Chapel of Little Rock in charge of arrangements. He died July 3 at the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids at the age of 83.

Chris DeBeer was born August 16, 1900 to Bruno and Bena (Aaldricks)* DeBeer, at Kelsey, Iowa. He moved to Lyon County, Iowa with his family, when he was 16. He married Johanna Zylstra on December 28, 1921. They farmed in the Little Rock area until 1965. He had been a resident of the Park View Manor in Ellsworth, Minn. since 1973.

Survivors include one son, Wayne, of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Eileen (Mrs. Clarence) Block, Little Rock; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, George, Little Rock.
