ENGLISH TOWNSHIP NEWS:

MRS. BIRD ENGLAND, who has been in poor health for some time, passed away at
her home Saturday morning. She had been able to be out and go every place
since spring and only became dangerous a few hours before her death. She
leaves a husband and small son, who will greatly miss her. The funeral
services were held at the Cain Church at 11 o'clock, Monday, by Rev.
McKenzie. Although it was somewhat rainy a large crowd gathered to pay
their last respects.

The ice cream supper at Central Friday night, proved a success as $37 was
taken in.

MR. and MRS. G.T. MILLER and children spent Sunday at CHAS. ABRAHAMSON's.

MR. and MRS. BERT GILBERT and children spent Sunday afternoon at CYRUS
WILLOUGHBY's.

MRS. MCDOWELL and daughter, MRS. MYRA WILSON, and two little sons, spent
Sunday and Monday near Columbia at FRANK COLWELL's.

Those who had planned to celebrate at Columbia, Monday, were a little
disappointed when it rained and spoiled their plans. But those from here
who celebrated at Lacona Saturday, considered themselves a little ahead of
the rest.

MR. and MRS. HARRY MILLER and daughters, JESSIE and MYRTLE, visited at CYRUS
WILLOUGHBY's Monday.
