The Chariton Patriot
Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, September 8, 1875

It is desired by the ladies of the Centennial Committee, to give a cordial
invitation to all persons, town and county, to the Centennial Tea Party to
be held in Mallory's Hall Sept. 15, 1875. Supper at six and continues
through the evening. Admission 10 cts. and supper 25 cts. There will be
ample provided and every one attentively waited upon. It is a matter of
interest to all. The proceeds go towards representing the products of Iowa
at the great National exhibition, to be held in Philadelphia in 1876, it
being the hundredth anniversary of our national independence. All should
feel a great interest that the products of the State and all branches of
industry be properly represented.
