ERWIN G. ANDREWS, LINN PIONEER DIES
Erwin Gibbs Andrews died April 13 at the home of J. E. Shaffer, four and one-half miles east of Marion.He was born Dec 27, 1843, in Ohio but had come to this vicinity with his family when only 2 years old, and so was among the early settlers of Linn County.
He was a farmer all his life and lived in the vicinity of Robins. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lulu Shaffer, Marion; Mrs. Minnie Huston, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Mae Townsend, Robins; three sons, William R. Robins; George Z., Hopkinton; Earl H., Robins; also, nineteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Dora McDonald, Highmore, S. D.
The funeral will be held Sunday in the Shiloh church. Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery. Friends wishing to view the body may do so at Cathcart and Luellen’s chapel. (Source: The Gazette, Cedar Rapids, IA, 14 Apr 1923, Sat., pg. 6)
