Montrose Last Night - He was
Hiding in His Mother's
Bed Room.

Benjamin Best, a drafted man from Lee county, who deserted from the army at Camp Dodge Nov. 28, was captured last night at the home of his mother in Montrose. The authorities have been searching for him since his desertion, and just recently got on his trail. He was found by Sheriff Scott last night hiding in his mother's bedroom. He was very badly frightened, as the penalty in war time is severe. The young man will be brought here this evening and will be lodged in the city jail, awaiting the demand of the federal authorities.
