Biography reproduced from page 464 of the History of Kossuth and Humboldt Counties, Iowa published in 1884:

Jerome Finnegan was born May 24, 1853, in New York, and went to Winneshiek Co., Iowa, with his parents when two years of age. He lived there about twenty years, then moved on section 7, Kossuth county, where he owns 160 acres of land, 100 of which is under cultivation. He has lived here eight years, and is a prosperous young farmer. He married Ida Jones, of Kossuth county, and they have two children—Mildred N. and Nellie M. In politics he is a republican.
