State of Indiana, Whitley County, ss,
Be it Known, that on the 24th day of September, 1856, at the September Term, 1856 of the Circut Court, personally appeared in open Court, Michael Coridan, a native of Ireland and shows to the Court by a certificate under seal that on the 9th day of September, 1852, he reported himself for NATURALIZATION, and declared his intentions preparatory to being admitted a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, before the Clerk of the court of Commons of Crawford County, Ohio agreeably to the act of Congress in such case made and provided: and proves by the examination of two competent witnesis his residence in the United States more than five years, and in the State of Indiana one year; his attachment to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and favorable disposition to the good order and happiness of the same, and likewise his behaviour as a man of good moral character.
Thereupon said Michael Coridan is duly sworn in open Court and makes oath that he will support the Constitution of the United States, and that he does absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Soverignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of Great Britain and Ireland.
