September 30, 1971 - The Anamosa Eureka

Mrs. Amanda Blayney, 76, a resident of Anamosa for over 50 years, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1971 as the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.

Born Amanda Schnoor June 15, 1895 in Cedar county, she was the daughter of Henry and Katherine Steoce Schnoor. She was married to Garland Blayney and they made their home in the Martelle community before moving to Anamosa. They were the parents of two sons, Clifford and Cecil.

She was preceded in death by her son Clifford in 1928, and by her husband in 1933.

She is survived by her son, Cecil, Ocala, Fla., two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A brother, Henry Schnoor, Anamosa, also survives.

Funeral services were held at Goettsch Funeral home Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Brown H. Garlock officiating. Interment was in Green Center cemetery.

Casket bearers were Elroy Hinz, Junior Hinz, Orval Hinz, John E. Andreesen, Jack Byers and Hugo Deininger.
