Thomas Howard Lathrop, 77, died April 20, 1971 at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids. Born near Oxford Junction April 21, 1893, he was the son of Howard and Ida Phillips Lathrop.

He spent his childhood in the Oxford Junction area, attending Oxford Mills school. He moved to South Dakota with his parents as a young man.

He married Faye Karns at Kalona, Iowa March 3, 1913. Couple lived in Minnesota for a time before returning to live in the Oxford Junction and Onslow vicinities for the last 40 years.

Surviving are three sons, Lyle, Onslow; Merle, Onslow; James, Davenport; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Jansen, Onslow; Mrs. George (Betty) Davis, Cedar Rapids. One sister, Mrs. Lloyd Ballou, Olin, 12 grandchildren and one great-grand
child also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Services were held Friday, April 23 at 1:30 p.m. at Onslow Presbyterian church. Burial was in North Madison Pioneer cemetery, Center Junction.
