Percy M. Bray, 75, died Sunday, April 4, 1971 in an Iowa City hospital after an illness of several weeks. The Rev. Boyd Bonebrake conducted the services held at Goettsch funeral home Wednesday, April 7 at 1:30 p.m. Burial was at Cass cemetery and pallbearers were Galen Brainard, Rudolph Soukup, Charles A. Clark, Jack Day, Claude Latta and Verne Shaffer.
Percy M. Bray was born November 4, 1895 in Cass township, the son of Willis W. and Helen Milne Bray. He attended the Cass Center school and served in the U.S. Army in World War I. He farmed in Cass until moving to California in 1954, where he lived until March of this year.
He is survived by four children, Dr. Donald Bray, Urbana, Ill.; Eugene, Anamosa; Mrs. Daniel (Roberta) Caringer, Springfield, Mo.; and Curtis, Mt. Vernon. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Ruth Yount, Monticello and two brothers, Hector, Anamosa and Martin, Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, his parents and a sister.
