Funeral services for Harry B. Capron, 47, Cass township farmer, will be held Friday, March 25, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Lloyd Dutro will officiate at the services, which will be held at the Goettsch funeral home. Burial will be in the Olin cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ernest Ulferts, Leonard Kray, Vernon Weers, Emil Oltmanns, Albert Oltmanns, and Raymond Biere. Graveside military services will be conducted by Anamosa VFW and American Legion.
Capron died Tuesday, March 23, 1971, at University hospitals, Iowa City, of gun shot wounds suffered at his home Monday morning. He was rushed to Anamosa Community hospital and then transferred to Iowa City where he died the following morning.
Harry B. Capron, born March 15, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, was the son of Nelson and Dilcie Lindley Capron. He graduated from Olin high school and served with the army in World war II.
He was married to Catherina Folkers May 1, 1948, and had farmed in Cass township since his marriage.
Mrs. Capron is survived by his wife, Catherina, and four children: Joan, Robert, Gary and Michael, all at home.
Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Dilcie Capron of Anamosa; three brothers, Clark, Springville, Garland and Elvern, both of Anamosa; two sisters, Mrs. Del (Leota) Reinhart, Davenport, and Mrs. Raymond (Dolly) Stolte, Mechanicsville. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Althia Ellison.
