Harold Adolph, 94, of Iowa City, passed away on August 26, 2024 at Windmill Manor Care Center in Coralville.

Visitation will be held from 10:00a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024 at The River Community Church (3001 Muscatine Avenue in Iowa City) with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Harold was born on November 1, 1929 in Clear Lake, South Dakota to Hans and Iva (Goodwater) Adolph. After graduating from Clear Lake High School, Harold served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954. He served in the Korean War before being honorably discharged.

On November 30, 1957 he married Shirley Jurmu and to this union, four children were born.

Harold worked as a plumber for many years. Additionally, he also built houses, and enjoyed working in the farming/agriculture industry for almost 10 years. In his spare time, Harold enjoyed woodworking, traveling, gardening, reading, and spending time with his family.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; children: Wendy (Allan) Lorom, Brian (Marsha) Adolph, Robb Adolph (Kristi Parvin) and daughter-in-law Tammy Adolph; grandchildren: Jonathan (Samantha) Lorom, David Lorom, Rebecca Lorom (fiancé, Tanner Nolan), Elizabeth (Will) Souer, Katherine (Andrew) Torkelson, Abigail Adolph (fiancé, Andrew Healy), Charles (Kara) Adolph, Thomas Adolph (Corri Pelzer), Robyn (Raymond) Gordon, Brady Adolph and Bailey Adolph; 12 great grandchildren; siblings: Lillian Hagen and Lucille (Peter) Zwanzig. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Phillip Adolph and siblings: Floyd Adolph, Orville Adolph, Sylvia Fryer and Ivabelle Adolph.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family of Harold Adolph, c/o Brian Adolph.
