Thursday morning an iron transfer pulley, about six inches in diameter, in the paper mills of Close & Sons, at Iowa City, burst while going at the rate of 500 revolutions per minute. The fragments were thrown a 150 feet. A large piece struck M. T. Close, Sr., fracturing a rib and cutting his head an arm.
