Timothy “Tim” Ray Morton, 69, of Newton, died on Friday, September 6, 2024 at his home. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, September 13 at the funeral home, followed by a celebration of life beginning at 3 p.m. at the Izaak Walton League in Newton. Memorials in Tim’s name (checks payable to Courtney Anderson) may be left at the funeral home.

Tim, the son of Graydon Jr. and Donna (Goodhue) Morton, was born on August 19, 1955 in Newton, Iowa. He graduated from Newton High School in 1975 and went on to have a 45 year long career at Newton Hy-Vee as the manager of many different departments, but primarily frozen foods. He was also a member of the Izaak Walton League and The United Methodist Church. Tim enjoyed many hobbies, including cards, poker, monopoly, snowmobiles, motorcycles, TV shows, and spending time with friends and family, especially vacations with family. He was also a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Cubs, and NASCAR, specifically Jeff Gordon.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Courtney Anderson; grandson, Brix Anderson; brother, Bruce (Shirley) Morton; aunt, Myra Goodhue; uncle, Don Morton; sister-in-law, Julie Morton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Danny Morton; and nephews, Doug Morton and Bradley Morton.
