Maquoketa - Sarah Antoninette Hinman was born March 7, 1845, in Wyoming county, N.Y., and died June 14, 1915. On May 28, 1865, she was united in marriage to Geroge W. Hinman at Upper Lisle, N.Y., they coming to Maquoketa in the latter part of 1868. At an early age she entered the Christian life and all through life has been an earnest consistent church member, uniting with the Congregational church of this city in March, 1891.
To Mr. and Mrs. Hinman were born six children, Miss Lulu B., Mrs. Ida E. Black, Mrs. Bessie A. Wendell of Maquoketa, Mrs. Helen Keegan of Chicago and Mrs. Harriet E. Whitfield of Livingstone, Mont. Will G., the only son, was called home May 16, 1898. Her husband, Geo. Hinman, preceded her in death a number of years ago. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren, Marie Antoninette and Owen Maurice Keegan, George Hinman, William Lloyd and Ida Eleanor Whitfield, and Marjorie Cecilia, Luida and Helen Francis Wendell.
