Maquoketa; he was born in Virginia, March 14, 1798, where he resided until 1851, when he came to Jackson Co., and soon bought and located on the farm where he has since lived. he married Elizabeth Keiser in 1823; they have had fourteen children, ten now living--George W., Jacob K., Mary F., Sarah E., Annie L., Nancy, Lizzie, William M., Benhamin F., Stephan H. He owns 240 acres of land; valued at $55 per acre. Himself and wife are members of the Christian Church; Democrat.
