Harry McPherson, 65, of Amana, IA passed away peacefully at his on home Sunday, August 25, 2024.

Harry was born November 29,1958 in Rockford, IL, the son of Richard and Betty (Nicholsen) McPherson. He was the son of a military family, moving around often. He graduated from Burlington Community High School and continued his education with Missouri Institute of Technology.

Harry met Karlene Dee Webber while in high school, The couple were married April 4, 1981, and to this union two children were born. Together they moved to California where Harry worked in the technology industry, working for different companies before working for TestEquity, where he retired in 2023. In 2017 they moved back to Iowa to be closer to their family. Upon the passing of Karlene, Harry moved to Amana to be near his daughter. Harry was also a partner in McPherson Delivery, working side by side with his family.

He enjoyed bowling, poker, and golf. He was a fan of the K.C. Chiefs, K.C. Royals, and Atlanta Braves. Harry especially loved spending time with his grandkids.

Harry is survived by his daughter, Jordan (Courtney) McPherson of Amana; son, Cort McPherson of Tiffin; grandchildren, Hendrix, Arlo, and Archie McPherson; mother, Betty Cummings; brother, Richard (Valerie) McPherson; and sisters, Rebecca McPherson-Wade and Roxene McPherson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard McPherson and his wife, Karlene McPherson.

A visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Kloster Funeral Home, in Marengo, Iowa with a Time of Sharing to begin at 3 p.m.
