Otto Klaffke, who was here to attend the funeral of his sister, Mrs. Martha Painter, returned on Tuesday to his home at Mt. Vernon S. D.

OBITUARYMartha Nellie Anna Painter was born at Cresco, Iowa, Dec. 20, 1888, being the fifth child of William Klaffke and his wife. On June 12, 1907, she was united in marriage with Herbert E. Painter. One child was born to them, Russell. On Nov. 1, 1915, the husband and father passed away. Since then she made her home largely with her sister Mrs. C. G. Doudell, at Kimball, S. D. Friday, Nov. 1st, she passed away after a few hours of intense suffering.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Pless Monday morning at the home of her parents in Cresco and burial was made in New Oregon cemetery. Her sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. Doudell of Kimball, S. D., and a brother, Lieut. Carl Klaffke of Camp Dodge, were the out of town relatives attending the funeral.
