LuCille Dorothy Proctor (93), a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on July 21, 2024 at Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa. She was born on August 11, 1930 to Ollie and David Gilbert in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the youngest of 5 children.
After high school graduation from Swaledale High School in 1948, she married Warren Proctor. They were married for 63 years until his passing in 2012.
LuCille’s legacy lives on through her daughters: Cyndy Clement (Brad) of Scottsdale, AZ; Sheila Ware of Scottsdale, AZ; Leslie Allcorn (Michael) of McKinney, TX. Her grandchildren: Alexa Harting (Eric) of Loveland, CO; Andrew Howard of Baton Rouge, LA; Joseph Morgenstern (Emily) of Richardson, TX; Zane Allcorn (Ashley) of Tampa, FL. And her great grandchildren: Jane, Ben and Ellen Harting; Merritt, Charlie and Shepherd Morgenstern and Davis and Georgia Allcorn.
LuCille was an active member of the Cresco United Methodist Church for 69 years and a member of the Cresco Country Club for over 60 years. She was also a founding member of the CIMOTA club.
She will lovingly be remembered for her skills in pie baking, quilting, golfing, playing bridge and sewing. Most of all, LuCille enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Up until her death, she was an avid University of Iowa Hawkeye fan and especially enjoyed watching Caitlin Clark.
Special thanks go to the Cresco Assisted Living family, the Evans Memorial Home and the Howard County Community Hospice for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Cresco United Methodist Church or the Howard County Community Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on September 28, 2024 at the New Oregon Cemetery in rural Cresco.
