A Pretty Home Wedding.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Davenport was the scene of a pretty autumn wedding Tuesday evening, when their daughter, Sara Leigh, was united in marriage to William Price Rathert, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Rathert of this city.
The ring service was read by the Rev. Will Kirwin, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal Church, after which, kneeling before an alter formed by banks of greenery, flowers, and broad white ribbon, they were baptized—the two ceremonies being most impressive.
Miss Lucy Kakac played the wedding march from Lohengrin, and during the ceremonies played “Evening Zephyrs and Sunset.”
The bride was gowned in cream net over ivory satin and carried a shower bouquet of roses.
Following congratulations a wedding luncheon was served in the dining room by the Misses Madeline Mitchell and Mildred Klingle, with Mrs. B. Davenport, grandmother of the bride, pouring, assisted by Mrs. J. E. Langworthy of Des Moines.
The groom, a former student at the Minnesota U., now holds a responsible position with the General Electric Co. of Minneapolis where he and his bride will be at home after Nov. 1st.
