Married at Elma.
The German Lutheran Church in Elma was the scene of a pretty wedding Wednesday, June 27th, when Miss Clara Weers was united in marriage to Carl F. Kemp of Alta Vista.
They were unattended. The ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Bonovsky.
The bride was beautifully gowned in white georgette crèpe over satin, with pearl trimming. She wore a chiffon veil with pink roses, and carried a beautiful shower bouquet of sweet peas and roses. The groom wore a blue serve suit.
Miss Martha Theilman at the organ played Lohengrin’s wedding march.
After the ceremony at the church a two-course dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Weers. About fifty guests were present. The pink and white color scheme was carried out in the dining room. Pink and white carnations formed the center piece, and the table was tastefully decorated with pink and white ribbon.
The bride’s cake was a beautiful white cake on a stand, and was decorated with carnations and smilax.
The happy couple left on the afternoon train for a short wedding trip to the Twin Cities.
The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Weers, is one of Elma’s charming young ladies who grew to womanhood in this community. She has been one of our most efficient teachers in the Elma public school for the past six years.
The groom is a popular young business man of Alta Vista, and is well known by all. They will be at home in Alta Vista after July 20th.
