Korous, Edward La Moyne - 1930-2011

Edward La Moyne Korous died of pneumonia at 81 on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, IA. He was born February 10, 1930 to Bill and Velma Korous of Riverside, IA. A private graveside service is planned with military honors at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, IA.
La Moyne graduated from West Branch High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Communications Operator.
He was a printer, like his father. La Moyne had a collection of antique printing equipment and traveled the mid-west repairing hot lead linotypes. In the fall you would find him at Old Threshers in Mt. Pleasant, IA. In later years, he worked for Ray Sloan's print shops in eastern Iowa.
He is survived by his sister, Lois Willadene Cannon and her husband Bob of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Dan E. Schabilion.
The family would like to thank the staffs of the VA Hospitals in Iowa City and Des Moines for the good care he received while he was there.
