SCOTT'S LANE
Scott's Lane is a colloquial term used for many years to designate the turn-off where Scott Milliner lived for many years. He was well known throughout Iowa for his thoroughbred cattle and the house became a landmark and "Scott's Lane" was used for directions, since everyone seemed to know this spot.
[Undated news clipping, probably "Mt. Pleasant News"]
TRANSCRIBER NOTE: It's generally believed Scott's Lane, north of Mt. Pleasant, was named for the Shadrack Scott family.
