Robert W. Pearce, 71, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls. Memorial services are pending with the Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel.

Robert W. Pearce, 71, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009, at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital, Iowa Falls. Memorial services for Robert W. Pearce will be 2:00 pm Sunday at the Linn's Funeral; Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa (641)648-2569. A time of visitation will follow the services. Robert William Pearce was born April 15, 1938 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, to Tillie [Mein] and Clifford Pearce. He attended school in Owasa and graduated with the class of 1956. He attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. On June 20, 1958, he was united in marriage to Joyce Ann Swaim at Eldora, Iowa. He farmed for 20 years while working for Ralston-Purina Co. for 9 years. In 1977 they moved to Florida and Tennessee where he was a herdsman. After moving back to Iowa he started farming south of town. He was also employed as a truck driver for Gainey Transportation Service. He loved to garden and had one of the largest gardens in the area.

Robert is survived by his wife: Joyce Pearce of Iowa Falls; two sons: William D. [Kelly] Pearce of Ankeny, Iowa and Kenneth R. [Pamela] Pearce of Iowa Falls, Iowa; two daughters: Barbara S. [Clyde] Wray, of Princeton, Illinois. and Karen J. [Thomas] Davies of Vermillion, South Dakota, thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Doris (Sherman) Aldinger of Ackley, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clifford and Tillie Pearce; and one sister: Lillian Mitterer.
