R. R. Ballantine is Dead.
Yesterday morning at five minutes after three o'clock R. R. Ballantine, one of the most prominent farmers of the vicinity, died at his home northeast of Jewell. Mr. Ballantine had been sick for about a month following a severe exposure from which pericarditis of the heart resulted. His children became sick with pneumonia at about the time of the heavy snow storm and Mr. Ballantine drove to Blairsburg after Mr. Ballantine's mother, shoveling the way through the snow drifts a good share of the way. The exposure was too much for him and in a few days he was forced to take to his bed and never recovered. Mr. Ballantine's death came as a shock to everyone and the united sympathies of all are extended to the grief stricken wife and children.
The funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at one o'clock from the home by Rev. W. C. Cole. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery at Jewell.
