A Fatal Accident at Webster City.

Walter C. Wilson [sic], the pioneer railroad man of Hamilton county and principal owner of the Cooked Creek Railway, was accidentally killed last evening while engaged in superintending the unloading of a car of dirt at Webster City. He was standing near the side of the car while workmen were engaged in shoveling dirt off the opposite side. When the car was about half unloaded it became unbalanced, upsetting upon Mr. Wilson [sic] pinning him beneath the car and almost entirely covering him with dirt. He was extricated as quickly as possible and taken to his home where medical aid was summoned but it was discovered that internal injuries were of such a serious nature that recovery was impossible, and within --- hours after the accident death came to possibly the most active and energetic man considering his age, in the county. Notwithstanding his seventy-six years in existence he was extremely active in the management of the affairs of his ---- keeping in touch with the numerous ----, and insisting upon making early trips to and from Lehigh. His sad death will cast a gloom upon Webster City and among his many friends throughout the state.
