Obituary

Mr. and Mrs. Att Alexander returned from Warrensburg, Mo., Monday from the sad mission of laying to rest the beloved mother of Mrs. A., Mrs. E. A. Hastings, who departed this date on the 23rd day of April at or near Hepburn, Ohio.

About two months ago Mrs. Hastings accompanied by her daughter, Maud, left home at Warrensburg, Mo., to visit her parents in the east. Shortly after their arrival at the home of her parents she was taken sick. While her health was the greater part of her life and at intervals a great sufferer from excruciating pains, yet it was rarely the case that she would be bedfast for over three or four days at a time. After two weeks of sickness grave fears were entertained for her recovery and Mrs. Alexander summoned to her bedside, after which she again was supposed to be gradually improving and plans were made for her removal home with no other thought than that she would regain he usual health until about ten minutes before death.

The remains were taken to Pleasant Hill, Mo., for interment there to sleep by the side of her husband who preceded her to the grave about eleven years ago. Four daughters are left to mourn the loss of a dear mother, Mrs. Chris Robson, of Marathon, Ia., Mrs. Att Alexander, of Jewell, and Misses Mary and Maud Hastings, whose residence was with their mother at Warrensburg, Mo. Messrs. Sterling and Howard Smith, of Jewell, are brothers of the deceased, the former attending the funeral at Pleasant Hill, Mo.
