LARS OMVIG FUNERAL

Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon for Lars C. Omvig, whose death occurred the preceding Wednesday. Rev. Heimarck officiated at the prayer service in the Omvig home and also preached the sermon at the service held in the Immanuel church.

A large gathering of relatives and friends were present to bear eloquent testimony to the high regard in which the deceased was held. The caket bearers were L. S. Johnson, T. Z. Henryson, John Sunnoe, P. I. Jacobson, Ole Olson and J. S. Johnson.

Mrs. Benj. Anderson and her brother Truman Quam sang a special number. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery.

All of Mr. Omvig's brothers, six in number, were able to be present, namely, Jens and Albert of Story City, Hans of Des Moines, Christian of Lake Park and Ole and Tom of Milo, N. D. An old time friend, Peter Maland of North Dakota, was also here; as was his nephew, Lawrence Omvig, from Camp Claiborne, La.

Lars Omvig was born 61 years ago on the Omvig farm 6 miles northwest of Story City, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Omvig. He never married. In recent years he plied his trade as a painter and was universally held in high esteem by those who knew him.
