MRS. GAYLORD NESS

Mrs. Gaylord Ness (nee Cora Thompson) was born at Marshalltown, Iowa, March 11, 1905, and died at the General Hospital, Des Moines, July 20, 1939, at the age of 34 years and four months.

Her mother died when she was three years old, and when she reached the age of four years, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Henderson provided her with a good home, where she grew to womanhood.

She was united in marriage to Gaylord Ness March 15, 1922, and to this union were born five children, ranging in age from below seven years to 16 years.

Mrs. Ness was a good wife and mother, and her husband four children (her fifth child followed her in death) will miss her very much. Besides her husband and four children, her passing is also mourned by her father, Oscar Thompson of Los Angeles, Calif., and two brothers: Amos of Story City, and Rufus of Roland; together with her other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held at her home three miles northeast of Randall, and at the North St. Petri church July 24, 1939, where Rev. Paulsrud officiated. Music for the services was provided by the Mortvedt Sisters, and burial was thereafter made at the Mamrelund cemetery. Pall bearers were Silas Tungevik, Irivin Anderson, Herbert Bakka, Myron Markus, Ed Neriem and Andrew knutson.
