MRS. ANNA ESPE
Anna Margaret, daughter of Nels and Anna Challe, was born in Illinois November 10, 1865, and died at the home of her son, Peter Espe, near Austin, Minn., Tuesday, January 5, 1937, at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 25 days. She had been in poor health about two years, her death resulting from a cerebral hemorrhage suffered two weeks before her death.
As a child she lived in Illinois, later came to Iowa, was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the age of 15 years, at Story City.
She was married to Helge Espe at Marshalltown in the year 1880. Seven children were born to this union, all of whom survive. They are, Anna Margaret Rout of Dows, Helena Sarah Jacboson of Garner, Nels Olea, Peter John, and Eric, all of Austin, Minn., William of Ahwaknee, Cal. and Bessie Christina Burda of Rose Creek, Minn. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Betsy Foss of Jewell; and three brothers, Erick Challe of Jewell, and Sam and Nels Challe, both of Chicago.
