Monday, March 22, 1999William Anderson, 91, of Webster City, a longtime Duncombe area farmer, died Sunday, March 21, 1999 at the Southfield Care Center in Webster City, where he had resided since July of 1998. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Washington Lutheran Church at Duncombe, with Rev. William Granger officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Lutheran Cemetery, south of Duncombe. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 11:00 a.m. at the church on Tuesday.
William Clifford Anderson, son of Hans and Serena Munson Anderson, was born March 23, 1907 on a farm southeast of Duncombe. He attended Duncombe High School and in 1929, attended Waldorf College, traveling with the Waldorf Choir. On June 13, 1933 he married Harriett Swendson at Thor. The couple farmed south of Duncombe and in 1947 moved to a farm north of Duncombe. They retired in 1972.
He is survived by his wife, Harriett; daughter and son-in-law, Norreen and Joe Perkins of Rolfe, son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Carol Anderson of Duncombe, grandchildren, Dennis and John Perkins, Mark and Chris Folvag, Jeff and Tim Anderson and Amy Heesch; 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, sister, Serena Mickelson of Duncombe, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Marjorie Folvag in January of this year; brothers, Henry, Alfred, Martin and Alert Anderson; sisters, Nora Olson, Mable Mickelson, Alma Anderson and Josie Kolberg.
He was a member of the Washington Lutheran Church and had held various positions on the church board.
