REV. THEO. HOEMANN

Meet the honorable Second Vice-President of your District, the Rev. Theo. Hoemann of Adair. It was his plea on the floor of the Cleveland convention that assured the passage of the overture petitioning Synod to divide the Iowa District.

Pastor Theo. Hoemann was born near Altamont, Ill., Aug. 28, 1881. His father was the late H. W. Hoemann, one of the first missionaries of our Synod in the State of Colorado. He attended the Christian day-school at Concordia, Mo., and was confirmed by the sainted Pastor J. Biltz, former President of the Western District. After completing his pre-theological studies studies at St. Paul's College in Concordia and at Concordia College in Milwaukee, he taught school in Lowell, Nebr., and Concordia, Mo., from 1900-1901. In 1904 he was graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo., and assigned to a mission-field centering round the town of Culbertson and consisting of seven stations scattered over four counties. In 1906 he accepted a call to Hiawatha, Kans., and in 1910 to Wathena, in the same State. Five years later he became pastor of the congregation in Falls City, Nebr., and since 1927 he has been serving Immanuel at Adair, Iowa.

In 1910 Rev. Hoemann entered the holy estate of matrimony with Miss Louise Zwick of Bingen, Ind., and the union was blessed with six children, four boys and two girls. Always active int he affairs of his Church, he served his circuit as Visitor, 1933-1936. At present he is a member of the Iowa City board and of our Radio Committee in additional to his office as Vice-President.
