Nathan Webster Albright, 51, formerly of Las Vegas, died unexpectedly after a courageous battle in recent years with depression. Although Nathan was born in Hebron, Neb., Aug. 3, 1955, his heart belonged in Virginia.

He graduated from Bridgewater College in 1977 and pursued his dream of becoming a labor lawyer. His brief work experience after college in the Virginia poultry industry convinced him that workers' rights required a vigilant champion. He attended Ohio Northern University Claude Pettit College of Law in Ada, Ohio, from 1980-1983, where he met his wife, Jennifer; and upon graduating, began a career with the National Labor Relations Board. His career began in Washington, D.C., and included Baltimore, and lastly, Las Vegas. He worked passionately and as a litigator was admired and respected by both clients and legal adversaries alike.

To say Nathan was a high-energy man was an understatement. His interests and talents were many. Not only was he a wonderful "down-home" cook, but he also greatly enjoyed fishing, boating, horseback riding and hunting. Although he was no self-described cowboy, he embraced the beauty of the Southwest and explored many of its natural wonders on his beloved trail horse, Bullet. Nathan both enjoyed and made music. He was an accomplished percussionist, starting from the age of 12. He played in college stage and concert bands, a circus band, law school jazz bands, and while in Las Vegas, even formed his own 8-piece jazz ensemble. Nathan's affable nature and eagerness to help anyone with anything at any time amazed all who knew him.

He was an attentive and loving husband, stepfather, brother and son. Nathan also enjoyed wood-working and while in Maryland devoted much of his extra time volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. His family will never be the same, for it is difficult for us to know how we will do without him.

Nathan leaves behind his wife, Jennifer Corry; his mother, Elaine Albright; his sister, Kathryn Albright; big brother, Bill Albright (Nandita Albright); stepdaughter, Corry Andrews (Barton Biggs); stepson, Joe Andrews; granddaughter, Ailey Biggs; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law. Nathan was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of twin granddaughters who are expected in October.

A memorial service followed by a celebration of Nathan's life will be held in Bridgewater, Va.

Nathan W. "Nate" Albright, 51, a resident of Las Vegas for 11 years and formerly of Arnold, died suddenly on Aug. 17 at home.

Born Aug. 3, 1955, in Hebron, Neb., Mr. Albright graduated from Bridgewater College in Virginia in 1977 and Ohio Northern University's Claude Pettit College of Law in 1983.

Mr. Albright worked as a trial attorney for the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Las Vegas. He served as president for his region's National Labor Relations Board professional union.

An accomplished percussionist at the age of 12, he played in concert and stage bands, a circus band and formed his own eight-piece jazz band in Las Vegas. His interests also included fishing, woodworking, boating, cooking, hunting and horseback riding in Nevada. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.

Surviving is his wife, Jennifer Ann Corry, whom he married in 1984; one step-son, M. Joseph Andrews of Silver Spring; one step-daughter, Corry Andrews of Faber, Va.; one brother, Bill Albright of Murphy, Texas; one sister, Kathryn Albright of Martinsburg, W.Va.; his mother, Elaine Albright of Bridgewater, Va.; and one granddaughter.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sept. 16 at Bridgewater Church of the Brethren, 420 College View Drive in Bridgewater, Va. Burial is private.
