Delbert Jones Dies At Hospital From Bone Injury

Delbert Jones, the 18 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Jones, living five miles southeast of Grundy Center, died at the hospital in Iowa City Tuesday night. The immediate cause of his death was nephritis which developed as a result of an injury to a bone in the hip nine years ago. Since the injury the boy suffered intensely from time to time and he had received treatment from many doctors both at home and at the hospital and had submitted to twenty-one operations without obtaining permanent relief. Two weeks ago a new abscess developed in the infected leg and he was taken to the hospital where the best of surgical skill was unable to save him.

The body was sent to the funeral home at Reinbeck where it will remain until the time of burial. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon.

Delbert was a student in the Grundy high school and he was beloved by all of his schoolmates and others who knew him.

Surviving are the father mother, three brothers, Harold, Ralph and Roscoe, and one sister, Hazel.
