Michael J. Koch
Waterloo-- Michael J. Koch, 56, of 582 Pioneer Road, Waterloo, died Friday, Oct. 17, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1947, in Waterloo, son of Robert J. and Eileen Dungan Koch. He married Nancy Moser July 26, 1997, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.
Mr. Koch graduated from Columbus High School in 1966 and was employed with Deere and Co. as a plumber and pipefitter for 29 years, retiring July 31, 2003.
Survivors include: his wife; three sons, Michael (Peg) of Des Moines, Robert of Rhinebeck, N.Y., and Thomas of Venice, Calif.; a daughter, Sara (Dave) Asche of Elkader; a stepson, Brian (Christine) Moser of Albert Lea, Minn.; four grandchildren, Amanda, Emily and Lucas Asche and Madison Moser; two brothers, Patrick (Kim) Koch of Cedar Falls and Robert Koch of Waterloo; and five sisters, Sharon (Bob) Adams and Rosemary (Steve) Isley, both of Waterloo, Mary (Jim) Rieck of Winfield, Ill., Margaret (Bob) Dietzler of Chandler, Ariz., and Anne (Wayne) Minske of Chanhassen, Minn.
Preceded in death by: his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church/St. Mary Site, with 1:30 p.m. graveside services in Washington Township Cemetery, rural Morrison. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation also one hour before services at the church.
Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
