Dies On Way To South Dakota

Ray Thompson of Morrison Another Victim of Spinal Meningitis

Remains Were Brought to Morrison Sunday Night

Ray Thompson died at Ellsworth, Minn., Thursday evening. Local physicians who took care of him there said he was suffering from cerebro spinal meningitis. The remains were sent back to Morrison and they reached there Sunday night at eleven o'clock. They were shipped in a sealed casket. The body was taken from the train direct to the Morrison cemetery and buried there.

Mr. Thompson left Morrison Wednesday night of last week. He had with him a car of machinery and live stock. He was on his way to Andover, S.D., where he expected to farm. He wasn't feeling well when he left home but he believed he was coming down with an attack of the grip. He was complaining all the time about being cold. When the train that he was on came into Ellsworth he was unconscious and the train crew took him off. Station Agent Mitchell of Ellsworth, was formerly at Morrison and he recognized the sick man. Local doctors were called at once and they did all that they could for him but he died Thursday night.

John Thompson the young man's father was sent for and he went up on the early morning train Friday.

Mr. Thompson was twenty-four years old. He is survived by a father, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services in memory of the deceased were held at Morrison Wednesday afternoon.
