Services Held For Joy Sexton
Joy Sexton, 64, Reinbeck, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 25, at the University Hospital in Iowa City.
Services were held Monday morning, August 29th, at the United Methodist Church, Reinbeck, with Rev. Omar Petersen officiating.
Mrs. Robert Thompson sang "In the Garden." The accompanist was Mr. James Grupp, who also played organ music for prelude and postlude. The congregation sang "How Great Thou Art" at the close of the service.
Casket bearers were Randall Ohrt, Vincent Moye, William Scanlan, Robert Thompson, Allen Stickfort and Brent Stickfort.
The ushers were James Smoldt and William Frei. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Schildroth and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Moye were floral attendants.
Burial was made in the Washington Township Cemetery, south of Morrison.
Joy Sexton was born Oct. 6, 1923, at Carthage, SD, a daughter of Robert and Myrtle Robbins Morrison. She spent her early childhood at Carthage, then moved to a farm near Morrison. She graduated from Grundy Center High School.
In February 1958, she married Jack Sexton.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Reinbeck. She had lived in Reinbeck for the last 20 years where she had been employed at Parkview Nursing Home, prior to taking care of her mother for several years. She also had done babysitting up until the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two sons, Don Sexton of Garland, TX, and Robert Sexton of Waterloo; one daughter, Darla Sexton of Reinbeck; one brother, Russell Morrison, Reinbeck; and one sister, Ardele Senning, Grundy Center.Card of Thanks
