Editor Register: I see your call in your paper for the names of Grundy county residents who are 80 years old or older.

I am sending you the name of Mrs. J. R. Strickler, whose home is in Melrose township and who was 82 years old last August. She with her husband and three oldest children came to Grundy county in 1865. They lived the first two years in the town of Grundy Center. Then in the spring of 1867 they moved out on their own farm in the middle school district of Melrose, where she still holds her residence.
