Last Sunday (January 25th) was the 81st birthday of Mrs. Albert Clark, of this city, and while there was no special demonstration made of the event, members of the family and a few intimate friends together with Mrs. Clark spent a portion of the day at the home of Mrs. Geo. Frost and Mrs. Clyde Wilhelm, just west of town. Those besides the family who were present were Mrs. Mary Mutch and Mrs. Lydia DeSeelhorst.

Probably Mrs. Clark holds one of the longest, if not the longest, record as a citizen of Grundy county, having lived in this vicinity for a little more than sixty-five years, and for the past twenty-five years has been a resident of this city.

Notwithstanding her age, Mrs. Clark is in remarkably good health, both physically and mentally, and is extremely active for one of her age.

Mrs. Clark can recall many of the incidents of the pioneer days of Grundy county and she has witnessed this section of the state transformed from a vast prairie to one of thickly settled farms and beautiful homes.

Mrs. Clark is a thorough Christian woman, a regular church attendant and one of the best loved women of the community.
