Mrs. Timos Flemmig
Mrs. Timos Flemmig was born Maude Peacock, daughter of William and Martha Harris Peacock, on May 2, 1889, in Audubon county, Iowa.
She spent her early years in Crawford and Green [Greene] counties, where she received her education.
She was united in marriage to Lester Barnes on Feb. 20, 1907. To this union one child, Dale, was born.
The lived in the vicinity of Churdan until the death of her husband on Dec. 25, 1923.
She then lived in Churdan and served as practical nurse until her marriage to Timos Flemmig on Feb. 10, 1934, when she came to live on the farm near Humboldt.
She was a member of the Methodist church at Churdan and a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
She passed away at their home near Humboldt on March 5, 1948, at the age of 59 years, 10 months and three days.
Surviving her are her husband, Timos Flemmig; her son, Dale Barnes of Churdan; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Biggs, Jefferson; Mrs. Ollie Woods, Jefferson, Mrs. Chloe Shriver, Churdan; three brothers, Ira Peacock of Spirit Lake; Val Peacock of Harris and Alva Peacock of Estherville. One brother, William, preceded her in death.
She is also survived by four stepchildren, Gladys Wessel of Humboldt, Donald Flemmig of Humboldt, Waldo Flemmig and Mildred Berg of Fort Dodge; and two grandchildren, Doris and Darwin Barnes of Churdan. —Contributed.
