J. Earl Cloepfil burial Friday
James Earl Cloepfil, prominent retired Hamburg businessman and farmer, died at Community Hospital about 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, Dec. 23. He was 71 years old, and had been in ill health for several months.
Services will be held at the Methodist church at 2:00 p.m. Friday, with Rev. M. J. Nash in charge. Burial will be at Mt. Zion cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Eliza, and two sons, Harold of Hamburg and John at Gary, Ind.; a brother, Don Cloepfil, of Rock Port; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Chamberlain of Redlands, Calif., Mrs. Virgil Hall of Tarkio; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Cloepfil came to the Hamburg community in 1912, and for many years was engaged in business here. After moving to Shenandoah for several years, the family returned to the farm four miles east of Hamburg shortly before World War II. He retired from active farming after the war.
He was a member of the Jerusalem A F and A M Lodge, Royal Arch Masons, the Nebraska Consistory and Tangier Temple of the Srhine of Omaha. There will be a Masonic commital service.
The body is at the Rash Funeral Home.
