Edward G. Koehler, 86, of Oelwein, Iowa died Tuesday morning, October 2, 2012.
Funeral services: 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein with Rev. Tim Schoepf officiating.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and for one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Edward George Koehler was born on August 5, 1926 at Hawkeye, Iowa the son of Edwin Henry and Margaret "Maggie" (Riley) Koehler. He was raised on the family farm near Hawkeye and graduated from West Union High School in 1944. Ed served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II in the Philippines. Ed was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean Duncan on September 21, 1947 at the First Christian Church in Oelwein.
Edward is survived by his seven children: John (Donna) Koehler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Kathy Koehler of Des Moines, Iowa; Kris (Walter) Anderson of Spread Eagle, Wisconsin; Cindy Koehler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mary Bradley of Decorah, Iowa; Martha (Kevin) Drewes of Gateway, Arkansas; Mike Koehler of Hawkeye, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Daniel Koehler, Chad Koehler, Justin Bradley, Nicole Cazares, Karri Metcalf, Michael Mesicek, Andrea Cooksey and Amy Vincent and ten great-grandchildren.
