Walter Hans Jacobsen was born in Werton, Iowa February 10th, 1896. He came to Lake Park with his parents March 13th, 1901, where he grew to manhood. On the 20th day of September, 1917, he entered the service of his country. He made the necessary preparations for the best service, and, after going overseas, participated in the following offenses. Toul sector, Morbach sector, St. Mihiel, and Meuse Argonne. He was killed in action in St. Jurin, France, October 14th, 1918.
He leaves to mourn his death his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jacobsen, living 2 ½ miles northwest of Lake Park, one brother, Herbert living near Choiko, Minnesota, two sisters, Mrs. Gordon Breffle, here at home, Mrs. Charles Gibson, residing in Gilmore City, Iowa, besides other relatives and friends.
