Services were held Thursday, Oct. 11 at the Turner Funeral Home in Spirit Lake for Marjorie L. Peacock, who passed away Oct. 9, 2001 at the Bickford Cottage in Sioux City after a brief illness.

The Rev. James Stiles officiated. Interment was held at the Lakeview Cemetery in Spirit Lake..

Peacock was born March 12, 1915 in Sanborn to Emil and Anna (Fritzche) Saupe. Educated in the Sanborn area in her early years, she went on to Iowa State Teachers College and graduated with a masters degree.

On June 21, 1947 Peacock was united in marriage to Chester F. Peacock in Spirit Lake. Chester passed away in September of 1970.

Peacock taught school in Terril for many years and had worked for Enron Propane Gas Company in Spirit Lake.

She also enjoyed fishing and playing cards with her grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Jon Peacock and his wife, Angela of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; two grandchildren, J. R. and Monica Peacock.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; Harold and Russell Saupe; four sisters, Lora, Ethel, Gertrude and Ruth.

Turner Funeral Home of Spirit Lake was in charge of the arrangements.
