Mr. James Clarence Halbur, 42, of Columbia S.C., died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1993 in Providence Hospital. Services were held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Monsignor Leigh Lehocky officiating.

Born in Milford, he was the son of Clarence John Halbur and Lenora Josephine Lowery Halbur. A carpenter employed with Alpine Cabinet Company, Mr. Halbur was also a member of the Clover Leaf Square Dance Club and the Star Promenades Square Dance Club.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Pomeroy Halbur of Columbia; two sons, David Halbur and Bruce Halbur, both of Columbia; his parents, Mr. and Mrs, Clarence Halbur of Milford; four brothers, John Halbur of Milford; Gerald Halbur and Earl Halbur, both of Columbia, and Richard Halbur of Fort Stewart, Ga.; two sisters, Mrs, Carol Kester of Clearwater, Neb., and Mrs. Florence Taplin of San Antonio, Texas; and a step-son, Mark McDonald of Columbia.
