Services for Donna L. Tuttle, 77, of Terril, formerly of Truman, Minn., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at United Methodist Church in Estherville.
Visitation will be conducted immediately following the service at the church fellowship hall.
Donna passed away peacefully Friday, March 14, 2014. She was born, July 10, 1936 in Milaca, Minn., to Blanche (Simon) and Theodore Long. She later moved to Truman, Minn. and graduated from Truman High School in 1954. Donna was united in marriage to Billy D. Tuttle on Sept. 2, 1956 and lived in Estherville. In 1968 they settled and made their home in Terril.
Donna was a true patriot of this country, her community and her family. In 1973 she became the local den leader, committee member and cub master for the Cub Scout Pack 165 and helped shape the young men of Terril for 10 years. Donna became a dispatcher for the Dickinson County Law Enforcement Center in Spirit Lake in 1973 until her retirement in 1999. Many will recall hearing her voice late in the evening and into the morning on the police scanners.
In her spare time Donna enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, annual trips to Vegas with friends and family and most recently enjoyed her morning "coffee with the girls" in Spirit Lake at the local diners. Donna is survived by her four children, Daniel of Brighton, Colo.; Brenda of Round Lake, Minn.; Billy of Terril and Netti and her husband, Darren of Gloucester, Va.; Sister Jean of Simi Valley, Calif.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy D. Tuttle (2000) and brother.
A service celebrating Donna's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at the United Methodist Church in Estherville. A reception and visitation of friends and loved ones will immediately follow at the church fellowship hall.
