Carrie Anne Wagler, 66, of Burlington died Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born Aug. 3, 1957, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Don and Anne (Lovely) Hensley. On May 15, 1995, she married Darrell Wagler in Burlington. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.

Carrie graduated from Burlington High School. She worked for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. She was the executive assistant to the Plant Manager. She retired after 26 years of service.

Carrie enjoyed gardening, knitting and cross-stitch. She created many beautiful cross-stitch pieces. Carrie was a collector of Hummel figurines and blown-glass witch’s balls.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell of Burlington; one son Matthew (Jen) Kranzler of New London; three sisters, Leanne Hullett of Rock Island, Illinois, Mary Beth Lemkau of Muscatine, and Janet (Michael) Bohnenkamp of Stronghurst, Illinois; and granddaughter Clarabelle.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Virginia Turner.

Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.

The graveside service for Carrie will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Des Moines County Humane Society.
