The Spirit Lake Regatta

A large number of visitors are present, having come from every direction to witness the regatta today. At this hour, one o’clock the weather is cloudy and cool and a strong wind prevails and fears are expressed that the races cannot take place this afternoon. The races will not be postponed, however, if the wind goes down. At the business meeting of the association, held this forenoon, the following officers were elected:
President-J. Scott Jenkins, Clinton.
Vice-president-James P. Donahue, Davenport.
Sec’y and treas.-E.S.Phelps, Burlington.
Commodore-L. A. Hammill, Keokuk
Ensign-N. T. Guernsey, Des Moines.
Other members of the Executive Committee-A. T. Paul, J. L. Hamilton, E. B. Mower.
