Driver of the auto was Raymond A. Woodsmall, 48, Wapello, Rt.1, who was taken to the Burlington police station for question following the mishap.
No Charge
While officers indicated immediately after the accident that Woodsmall would be charged with operatinga motor vehicle while intoxicated, further investigation revealed there was insufficient evidence to warrant filing of such a charge.
Cornick was operating the motorcycle, Miss Laue, his sister-in-law, was a passenger.
According to highway patrolmen, there was no evidence at the scene to indicate which vehicle was in the wrong lane of traffic.
The deaths were the seventh and eighth within the county this year. At this time last year four fatalities had been recorded.
