Sandra, “Sandy” K. McCarthy,75, of Monticello, Iowa passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022 surrounded by her family at her home.

Visitation will be held 5 - 7 p.m., Monday, February 21, 2022 at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello.

There will be a private burial held Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Oakwood Cemetery.

Sandra was born December 22, 1946, in Monticello, Iowa the daughter of Robert and Kathleen (Conter) Starks. She married Donald McCarthy on November 28, 1964, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello.

Sandy worked for many years at Julin Printing in Monticello. After retiring, she spent much of her free time camping with her husband. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren in recent years.

Survivors include her children: Chris (Tully) Reilly of Manchester, and Jason (Debbie) McCarthy of Olathe, KS; daughter-in-law, Pam McCarthy of Monticello, 6 grandchildren: Morgan (Spencer) Owen, Tyler (Ashley) McCarthy, Courtney McCarthy, Kyle (Jill Thompson) Reilly, Brent (Jaclyn) Reilly, and Logan (Paige Hansen) Reilly, greatgrandchildren: Eli, Lincoln, and Lane Owen, Noah and Lucy McCarthy, Barrett Reilly, siblings: Margaret Nielsen, Mary (Mark) Lawrence, Ken (Norma) Starks, Mike (Connie) Starks, Carol Starks, Sarah (Jerry) Easterly, in-laws: LJ (Najette) McCarthy, Ed (Sharon) McCarthy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, parents-in-law, sons, Don Jr. and Ron McCarthy, siblings: Joyce Hanken, Bob Starks, Bill Starks, Janet Sills, Richard Starks.
